About 0.5 kilometers northwest of the county town, a earthen mound rises from the city lake, standing over ten meters high. It is called Wen Ting Mountain, also known as Yun Ting Mountain. Legend has it that during the Spring and Autumn Period, Zengzi and the “Three Rans” (Ran Yong, Ran Geng, and Ran Qiu) once gathered here to discuss literature. Later, a pavilion was built on the mound in their memory, named “Hui Wen Ting” (Pavilion for Literary Gathering), and the mound came to be called Wen Ting Mountain. Another legend says: Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, once stayed at Wen Ting Mountain, where five-colored clouds were said to have shrouded the area, hence Wen Ting was also called “Yun Ting” (Cloud Pavilion), and Wen Ting Mountain was also called “Yun Ting Mountain.”

According to experts, Wen Ting Mountain formed during the Neolithic Age and is a rich ancient cultural site. It can be said that Wen Ting Mountain is the source of Chengwu’s history, a symbol of its ancient civilization, and the birthplace of its historical and cultural heritage. In 1964, Wen Ting Mountain was turned into a martyrs' cemetery. Here, lush cypresses and willows create a dense shade. In the height of summer, the lake below ripples with clear blue waves, and reeds sway gracefully, while the mountain is dotted with emerald cypresses and willows, adorned with blooming flowers, offering a pleasant landscape. It is not only a great place for leisure and recreation, but also a memorial site for patriotic education and revolutionary tradition, especially for young people. In 1989, Wen Ting Mountain was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Chengwu County.

To the north of Wen Ting Mountain lies another earthen mound, known as Dou Ji Tai (Cockfighting Platform). Legend has it that during the Spring and Autumn Period, after the State of Song conquered the State of Gao, it violated the alliance made at the Beixing Meeting. In 679 BC, Duke Huan of Qi, acting as the leader of the alliance, summoned allies and launched a military campaign against Song. Shan Bo led troops to meet him at the northern border of Song, and after defeating the State of Song, they held cockfights on the platform to celebrate their victory. Since then, it has been passed down through generations as a place for people to gather for cockfighting entertainment.
