The ruins of Guangfu Temple are a cultural heritage site protected by Heze City.

Guangfu Temple Ruins

Located in Taohua Temple Village, Datianji Town, the site borders an east-west street to the north, with low-lying areas to the west and south. It was originally constructed in the fifth year of the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty, and underwent numerous renovations during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Existing relics include a stele from the ninth month of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty recording the temple’s renovation, a stele from the spring of the thirteenth year of the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty documenting the renovation, a stele from the eighteenth year of the Hongzhi era of the Ming Dynasty, a stele from the fifth year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty commemorating the renovation of Kunlu Pavilion, a stele from the third month of the thirty-fourth year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty documenting the renovation of the temple’s mountain gate and the gilding of the Heavenly King statues, a stele from the fifth month of the twenty-first year of the Kangxi era commemorating the creation of Kunlu Pavilion, a stele from the third month of the twenty-seventh year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty documenting the renovation of the Bodhidharma Temple, as well as a pair of turtle pedestals, several fragmented steles, a pair of carved stone rollers, a pair of fragmented stone pillars, and a temple well located to the southwest. The site spans 80 meters from east to west and 100 meters from north to south, standing approximately 1 meter higher than the surrounding ground. By the time of the Anti-Japanese War, only dilapidated halls remained. In the 1970s, the site was completely destroyed and rebuilt as Taohua Temple Middle School. In 2006, five main halls were reconstructed, housing 18 Buddha statues.
