The Jihé Temple ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Jihé Temple Village is located 7.5 kilometers northwest of Wenshangji Town, on the north bank of Wanfu River. In the northeast corner of the village, there is a large earthen mound-like platform that stands much higher than the surrounding area—this is the site of Jihé Temple, which was designated as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit in 2013. According to records, Jihé Temple has a history of over a thousand years. During the Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty, the Ji family moved here and built a village next to the temple, hence naming the village after the temple. Before the Liberation War, monks still resided at Jihé Temple, and later the site was used to establish a school. During the land reform period, the temple and its Buddha statues were destroyed. In the spring of 2006, villagers from Jihé Temple Village and neighboring villages spontaneously raised funds to rebuild a temple on the mound, named the Mahavira Hall, which houses clay Buddha statues—vividly crafted and very magnificent. Jihé Temple holds an annual temple fair on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, which is very lively. Devotees come to offer incense, worship the Buddha, and pray for peace and prosperity.
