He Yuan Taishan, also known as Ya Shan or Tianmen Ridge, is located in the eastern part of He Yuan Town, Jinxi County, about 35 kilometers from the county seat. The area features verdant peaks, lush forests, bamboo groves, deep canyons, and cascading waterfalls, making it an ideal destination for weekend outdoor activities and leisure tourism for nearby cities and counties such as Nanchang, Fuzhou, and Yingtan.

He Yuan Taishan is home to several major peaks, including Gaoguan Peak, Tianmen Ridge, Zhongyuan Temple Peak, East Peak, Zhenggai Ridge, Bijia Peak, and Qima Ridge. Among them, Bijia Peak stands at an elevation of 1,364 meters, making it the highest point in Jinxi. Currently, there are two developed hiking routes in the mountain—Gaoguan Peak and Zhenggai Ridge—both featuring good trail conditions suitable for hikers with some outdoor experience. The summit of Gaoguan Peak boasts sheer cliffs and ancient pines, offering a sweeping view of the orderly houses of He Yuan, making it a perfect peak for an uplifting hike.

In addition, the mountain contains six major canyons, among which the East Peak Canyon and Wangjiashan Canyon are particularly appealing due to their intriguing rock formations and numerous waterfalls, making them ideal for stream tracing and waterfall viewing. During spring and summer, when rainfall is abundant, many of the waterfalls are especially spectacular, with the Dragon Roar Waterfall, Jade Maiden Waterfall, and Cold Wind Waterfall being the most eye-catching. It’s an excellent place to escape the summer heat.

Since 2010, with promotion and development by local villagers, two hiking routes and two stream-tracing routes have been established. Nowadays, He Yuan Taishan has gradually become a popular spot for outdoor activities and leisure tourism.

As He Yuan Taishan remains undeveloped, there are no facilities in the mountain. Therefore, visitors should pay extra attention to safety during their trip, and it is strongly advised not to enter the mountain alone. Mobile phone signals in the area are intermittent, so...

It is best for first-time visitors to hire a local guide when entering the mountain. For example, the owner of Nanyuan Farmhouse in He Yuan Village has hosted many tourists and has extensive guiding experience.

Currently, there is no dedicated parking lot in He Yuan Village. About 5–7 cars can be parked at the entrance gate, and one bus can be parked at the Qingjiu Ancestral Hall. If you drive directly to the East Peak Canyon, around 6 cars can be parked. There is no space for parking in Wangjiashan Canyon, but a few cars can be parked along the roadside.

1. He Yuan Taishan preserves its pristine natural environment. We hope that all visitors will pay attention to environmental protection and avoid littering. If you generate any trash, please take it back to He Yuan Village for proper disposal.

2. As He Yuan Taishan is undeveloped and lacks any infrastructure, visitors should be especially cautious and avoid entering the mountain alone. Mobile phone signals are inconsistent in the area, so it is advisable to have a local guide when visiting for the first time.
