The former site of Gutang Village Party Branch is a classic red tourism attraction.

The First CPC Branch in Chongren County: The former site of the Gutang Branch is located in the southeastern part of Chongren County, approximately 21 kilometers from the county seat. In October 1927, with the assistance of the Linchuan County Committee, the first CPC branch in Chongren County—the Gutang Branch—was officially established.

To carry forward the red gene and further enhance the protection of revolutionary heritage sites, in March 2017, the county Party committee and county government officially launched the restoration project of the Gutang Branch former site. The project has a total investment of over 40 million yuan and is being carried out in three phases. The first phase, with an investment of about 11 million yuan, focuses on creating five exhibition points: Dream-Building Square, Party Members and Cadres Education Base, the Former Site of the Branch, Huang Fengchi’s Former Residence, and the Original Aspiration Garden. The Dream-Building Square covers an area of 2,000 square meters, featuring the “Light of Chongren” party flag sculpture, which is 10 meters long and 2.7 meters high, subtly referencing the establishment date of the Gutang Branch—October 1927. The main sculpture is 7 meters long with a 1-meter-high base, commemorating the founding of the Party on July 1. The base is supported by 56 pieces of red stone, symbolizing that the governance of the Communist Party of China is the common aspiration of people from all 56 ethnic groups, aligning with public will and representing the people’s heartfelt desire. The Party Members and Cadres Education Base spans 130 square meters, displaying content related to the history of the Party. The Former Site of the Branch, also 130 square meters, showcases the establishment of revolutionary political power and historical evolution during the Agrarian Revolutionary War in Chongren. Huang Fengchi’s Former Residence, covering 170 square meters, is a 300-year-old traditional building containing simple office supplies and daily necessities, recreating the hard-fought, self-reliant historical scenes of revolutionary martyrs. The Original Aspiration Garden, spanning 580 square meters, includes both outdoor and indoor exhibition areas, presenting scenes from Comrade Huang Fengchi’s work and other related content. These elements serve as a medium to help Party members and cadres in Chongren County gain a deeper understanding of the glorious history of the county’s revolutionary struggle, reflect on the spirit of the Soviet Area, stay true to their original aspirations, keep their missions firmly in mind, consciously inherit the red gene, and strengthen the soul of belief.
