Chongren Stone Scripture Pillar

The Chongren Stone Scripture Pillar is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The Chongren Stone Scripture Pillar is located on the south bank of the Xining River in Shanxie Hanhu Village, Xiangshan Town, Chongren County. It was built in the 29th year of the Wanli reign during the Ming Dynasty (1601). It is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province.

Known as the "Stone Scripture Pillar" or "Hanhu Scripture Pillar," it is made of granite. The upper part of the pillar resembles a six-tiered pagoda, with each tier being 21.7 meters high and 46.4 cm wide. It has a gourd-shaped top, 39 cm in height and 24 cm in diameter. The lower central column is square-shaped, 3.4 m wide and 33 cm wide. The base is also square, 66 cm wide, 37 cm high, and the entire pillar stands 5.2 m tall. The southern face of the central column is engraved with Buddha images, while the northern face features inscriptions such as "腌佛……元无量" and the date "the 29th year of the Wanli reign (1601)."
