Also known as Thin-stemmed Altingia, it is a provincially protected rare plant in Jiangxi Province. This evergreen tree has gray, smooth bark and hairless young shoots. The wood is heavy, hard, and has a fine grain, making it suitable for construction or furniture-making. It can also be used to extract mushroom-scented oil for medicinal or aromatic purposes. There are three Thin-stemmed Altingia trees over a hundred years old in the park. One located in front of the main gate of Qingliang Mountain Villa is 120 years old, stands 18 meters tall, has a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 103 cm, and a crown spread of 15 meters. It grows alongside two slightly younger Thin-stemmed Altingia trees, resembling a small forest from a distance. Another in Chakeng is 220 years old, stands 15 meters tall, has a DBH of 109 cm, and a crown spread of 9 meters. The third, growing on Shanbei, is over 360 years old, stands 30 meters tall, has a DBH of 115 cm, and a crown spread of 22 meters. All three trees are currently in good health.
