Taibo Park

Taibo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Taibo Park was built to commemorate Li Gou. Li Gou (1009–1059), courtesy name Taibo and art name Master Xujian, was an important philosopher, thinker, educator, and reformer during China's Northern Song Dynasty. He lived in a time when the country was "impoverished and weak" during the mid-Northern Song period. Although he came from a humble background, he strived diligently, was eager to learn, and was committed to writing in order to bring prosperity to the nation and help its people.

Li Gou was well-read and knowledgeable, especially skilled in the study of rites. He did not confine himself to the old theories of Han and Tang Confucian scholars, but dared to express his own views and interpret classical texts through reasoning, eventually becoming a "leading Confucian scholar of his time." Today, 37 volumes of Collected Works of Mr. Li the Direct Lecturer are preserved, along with three supplementary volumes of the Outer Collection. To honor Li Gou, Taibo Park was constructed on the outskirts of Zixi County. The park features a statue of Li Gou, the Wen Ding Terrace, and stone tablets engraved with his poems, essays, and legends. A new Li Gou Memorial Hall was also built to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of his birth (1009–1059).
