【Chan Shi Platform】
Located in Dongyang Village, Luxi Town, it was first built in the third year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1370 AD), 633 years ago. The founder was the thirteenth-generation descendant of Wu Minhui, the founding patriarch of the Wu family who served as Prefect of Yuanzhou Prefecture during the Later Tang Dynasty. The temple was gradually expanded from a small structure to a larger one. By the 20th year of the Jiaqing era in the Qing Dynasty, it had already formed the Front Hall dedicated to King Kang, the Rear Hall dedicated to the Jade Emperor, along with shrines to the deities Wenchang and Guan Gong. To the left was the adjacent Guanyin Hall. In the ninth year of the Tongzhi era in the Qing Dynasty, the Kuixing Pavilion and the Confucius Temple were added, with a plaque reading “Respect for the Sage Hall” hanging at the entrance. To the right stood the Old Altar Dragon King Temple, forming an overall layout of one pavilion, three halls, and seven shrines, integrating Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The complex covered nearly 2,000 square meters, featuring elaborate carvings and paintings, a majestic atmosphere, and spectacular architecture, making it one of the four major temples in Pingxiang at the time.
Chan Shi Platform suffered damage during the Cultural Revolution but retained its overall structure, and many cultural relics were preserved. In 1995, it was listed as a municipal religious activity site.
