Former Site of the CPC Xunwu County Committee

The former site of the CPC Xunwu County Committee is a cultural relic protection unit of Xunwu County.

The former site of the CPC Xunwu County Committee is located at No. 1, Dongxiang Lane, Changning Town. Originally built in 1920 as a Catholic church, it served as the headquarters of the CPC Xunwu County Committee from 1930 to 1933. In May 1930, during his Xunwu Investigation, Mao Zedong held a symposium here. This site was the center of political activity in Xunwu during the Agrarian Revolutionary War.

The site is a tile-roofed earthen structure facing east, measuring 15.8 meters in width and 6.9 meters in depth, with a height of 6 meters and a total floor area of 109 square meters. It consists of two sections: the front section is a single-story building that originally functioned as the Catholic church, while the rear section is a two-story residential building, which has now collapsed.

On April 6, 1986, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Xunwu County.

The protected area extends 10 meters outward from the perimeter of the site, while the construction control zone extends 20 meters outward from the protected area.

Before the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was called Shixi Town; in August 1949, it was renamed Chengguan Town; and in 1983, it became known as Changning Town. The town government is situated on Xin Qiao West Road. The town administers 4 neighborhood committees, 80 resident groups, 3 village committees, and 50 villager groups. There is 1 Party general branch and 14 Party branches, with a total of 448 Party members. The total population is 28,290, including 26,994 urban residents and 5,835 agricultural residents.
