The Former Site of the Meeting of Cadres at the Battalion Level and Above of the Fourth Red Army is a cultural relic protection unit of Xunwu County.

The Former Site of the Meeting of Cadres at the Battalion Level and Above of the Fourth Red Army is situated on Horse Hoof Hill in the southwest of Xunwu County. Originally constructed in 1917 as a Christian church, it hosted an important meeting in May 1930. While conducting the Xunwu Investigation, Mao Zedong chaired a gathering of cadres at the battalion (or company) level and above in the church’s main hall. The meeting primarily aimed to implement the resolutions of the Gutian Conference. It involved systematic discussions on various issues within the army, summarized seven key principles for military education and management, and deeply elaborated on the new type of relationship between officers and soldiers in the people's army. This gathering significantly propelled the Fourth Red Army toward becoming a modern people's army in line with the spirit of the Gutian Conference resolutions, marking an important milestone in the history of our military's development.

The site is a two-story building with a rammed earth structure, facing east and situated westward. The ground floor walls are made of cobblestone and lime concrete, while the upper floor has earthen walls and a double-sloped blue-tiled roof. The structure measures 23.85 meters in length from east to west and 18.56 meters in width from north to south, with a roof height of 8.02 meters. The central part of the ground floor features a corridor, flanked by seven rooms on each side. On the upper floor, the eastern end houses the main entrance along with two side rooms, while the center accommodates the church’s main hall. Stone steps at the main entrance lead directly from the ground floor into the church hall.

On April 6, 1986, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Xunwu County, and in March 2013, it was listed as part of the seventh group of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level by the State Council.

The protected area extends 10 meters outward from the perimeter of the site, and the construction control zone extends 20 meters outward from the protected area.
