Sanjiangkou Primeval Forest is located in the southern source mountains of Hongshuizhai, 23 kilometers northwest of the county town, at an altitude of 400 to 900 meters. It is a provincial-level forest park. The existing wood

land is situated along both banks of the Sanjiangkou River, spanning approximately five kilometers in length and covering a total area of 12 million square meters. Entering the Sanjiangkou forest area, one can see towering ancient trees and thick shade that blocks out the sunlight. The area features overlapping mountain ridges, crisscrossing ravines, and numerous waterfalls scattered throughout, presenting a rich and colorful natural landscape. The mountains are home to beautiful silver pheasants as well as precious wildlife such as serows and deer. The river valley is scattered with large bluestones in various shapes resembling cows, pigs, and more, displaying a thousand different forms. The climate here is cool and pleasant year-round, with an average temperature of 15.6°C, making it a natural summer retreat.
