The former site of the command post of the Southern Jiangxi Detachment is located at Jiaoyepo, Zhangdou Village, Zhangdou Town, Dayu County.

The Southern Jiangxi Detachment of the Guangdong–Jiangxi–Hunan Border Column of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army was officially established in May 1949 in Youshan. Liu Jianhua served as both commander and political commissar, Deng Guoliang (also known as Dai Yao) as deputy commander, Quan Yang as deputy political commissar, and Yun Changyu as head of the political department. The troops of the former Guangdong–Jiangxi–Hunan Border District People’s Liberation Army that had been active in southern Jiangxi were integrated into the Southern Jiangxi Detachment. In June, the detachment’s command post moved from Youshan to the Zhangdou area of Dayu, initially stationed at Niuling and later at Jiaoyepo in Zhangdou Village. Under the leadership of Commander and Political Commissar Liu Jianhua, they mobilized the masses for political propaganda, divided and weakened enemy forces, intercepted retreating enemy troops along the highways, and coordinated with the advancing PLA forces. In late August, they liberated the entire territory of southern Jiangxi.

The former site of the command post of the Southern Jiangxi Detachment is a traditional quadrangle courtyard, built in the 1870s or 1880s, facing east with a westward orientation. It has an earthen-and-timber structure, consisting of a three-room main building divided into front and rear halls. The front hall serves as the main room, while the rear hall features a reversed flower pond. The roof is covered with blue tiles, and the total area is approximately 100 square meters.
