Ganxian Wenchang Pavilion

Ganxian Wenchang Pavilion is a cultural tourism attraction.

Ganxian Wenchang Pavilion is located at the source of the Gan River in Jiangxi Province, on the north bank of the Gong River, in the southern part of Ganxian County, and on the western section of the Southern Jiangxi Hakka Celebrity Park. It covers an area of 1,032 square meters, with a construction area of 2,696.62 square meters. The exterior has three stories: the first floor features a surrounding gallery, the second floor has overhanging eaves with four projecting pavilions, and the third floor is a double-eaved cross ridge, with the highest point being the top of the finial. The body of the pavilion is 39 meters tall, and the base is 7.36 meters high, making the total height 46.36 meters. The pavilion has a square floor plan and consists of five levels internally, with hidden floors between the first and second levels. Construction began on October 2, 2009. The entire project used imitation antique building materials, traditional architectural craftsmanship, and modern construction techniques. The interior is framed, while the exterior mimics Song Dynasty wooden structures, capturing the charm of Song pavilions and the legacy of Tang towers. This pavilion is a classic architectural representation of Ganxian’s history and culture, as well as an important venue for leisure, sightseeing, high vantage viewing, poetry recital, and singing for residents of Ganxian and Ganzhou, as well as domestic and international tourists. Its completion plays a significant role in enhancing the city’s cultural stature, promoting Hakka culture, and meeting the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the public. Qiu Rufu praised it: “A towering pavilion soars above the Gong River, glowing with the elegance of the Tang and Song. A land of spirit breeds talent through the ages, and great minds forever sing praises of Wenchang.”
