Chuanbu New Village is located in the southern part of Nantang Town, Gan County, at the foot of Jishan Mountain and along the Pingjiang River, 35 kilometers from the city center of Ganzhou. It enjoys convenient transportation, a beautiful environment, and abundant tourism resources. The terrain of Chuanbu resembles a boat sailing on the Pingjiang River, and as it was previously a hub for local commodity trade, the area was named “Chuanbu” (Boat Wharf), since its founding during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty over 500 years ago. Though the small village has weathered centuries of change, it still retains its ancient character. The village is filled with verdant ancient trees, offering scenic beauty at every turn, while the villagers live in peace and harmony. Since the launch of comprehensive new rural development, Chuanbu Village has seized the opportunity, using its beautiful ecological environment and strong cultural foundation as advantages. In line with the needs of the times, it has blended traditional and modern civilizations, giving traditional culture a new contemporary significance and showcasing the vitality of modern civilization. The aim is to develop Chuanbu into a new village marked by prosperous living, ecological sustainability, and social harmony. Prosperous Living Village: Since the initiation of new rural construction in 2009, the town’s Party committee and government have taken stock of the situation and, adhering to the vision of an “ecological, cultural, and tourism” new village, have worked in conjunction with the development of Jishan Mountain tourism to create a premium tourism route that involves ascending Jishan Mountain, experiencing Buddhist culture, exploring Chuanbu, and enjoying rural life. They have constructed a new leisure plaza for farmers, a community activity center, the “Pinlv Xuan” farmhouse eatery, a bamboo memorial archway, developed a 7-mu fishpond, planned a 2,000-mu new-model agricultural estate, and laid out 16 new Hakka-style homes totaling 5,000 square meters under the “Heluoju” project, renovated 25 other new-style homes, and developed two key local industries—stevia and vegetables—with the goal of each household planting one mu of stevia. The village has also actively supported the establishment of flower and seedling nurseries, enhanced labor transfer and job creation services, and significantly raised the overall living standards of its residents. It has achieved the objectives of providing residents with flat roads, clean water, sanitary toilets, neat housing, and clean energy sources. Ecological Civilization Village: The standout trait of Chuanbu New Village is its greenery. The area is home to over a hundred ancient camphor and banyan trees, some over a century old, including the rare sight of camphor and banyan trees coexisting and thriving together. There are expansive bamboo groves, golden fitness beaches, and fully equipped fishing centers. The “Pinlv Xuan” Hakka restaurant offers a distinctly local ambiance where visitors can relax under the “Gongpo Tree” and soak in the essence of nature. Strolling along the restored ancient horse racing path evokes the lively atmosphere of historical commerce, while walking along the riverside “Ecological Corridor” provides an escape from urban noise and a chance to breathe crisp, natural air—an uplifting experience. The well-preserved natural scenery, paired with modern development, has led to Chuanbu Village being praised as an “ecological home.”

Harmonious Society Village: The planning and construction of Chuanbu New Village reflect the dedication of leaders at all levels. To honor the Party’s care and support, and to uphold the tradition of “never forgetting the well-digger when drinking water,” the people of Chuanbu voluntarily raised funds to build the “Si Yuan Pavilion” (Fountainhead Pavilion) and the “Jiu Qu Bridge” (Nine-Turn Bridge). These serve to remind villagers to remember the Party’s kindness, stay connected to its values, and pass this spirit down through generations. The village enjoys a civilized atmosphere, with hospitable residents who value education, respect teachers, and cherish learning. According to statistics, among the Wang clan in Chuanbu, there are currently five doctoral degree holders and 42 undergraduates. In recognition, the new village council has established a memorial garden called the “Doctoral Forest,” symbolizing the academic achievements of Chuanbu’s students and their persistent, stone-carving-like dedication to learning. This has fostered a village-wide culture of diligence, striving, excellence, and progress in education.
