Shusheng Hall

Shusheng Hall is situated in Group 4, Bailu Village, Bailu Township, Ganzhou County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, 63 kilometers northeast of the county town. It faces southeast and is constructed with a brick-and-wood structure, featuring a flush gable roof, a three-bay width, a single-entry two-hall layout, and a post-and-lintel framework. The building is 10.3 meters wide and 19.25 meters deep, with a total floor area of 198 square meters. Many of its doors and windows feature large wood carvings, giving it a distinctive charm. This ancestral hall is a specialized worship hall, built in the early years of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty, dedicated to the feng shui master Zhong Xuelin. Zhong Xuelin (1625–1672), also known as Shusheng, was born in the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty and lived through the 11th year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty. He was highly learned, well-versed in the classics and history, and was the foremost expert in Yi Jing and feng shui in Bailu Village. He authored the "Collected Commentaries on the Book of Changes." The interior of the hall is spacious and imposing. It is a representative architectural structure in the region and holds certain cultural preservation value.

Bailu Village: Bailu Village is located in the northern part of Bailu Township, Ganzhou County, Jiangxi Province, 63 kilometers from Ganzhou City. The settlement of Bailu dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties and has flourished over time. The village currently has nearly 600 households and a population of 2,500. It is shaped like a crescent moon, covering an area of 0.2 square kilometers. Among its 60,000 square meters of historic architecture, there are more than 140 well-preserved Hakka residences that are over a hundred years old. The classical gray-brick, black-tile complexes were mostly built during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
