Tomb of Xi Zhuozi

The Tomb of Xi Zhuozi is located on Zaomu Mountain in Dongcun Township, Fenyi County. It was renovated in the 46th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (note: 1781 AD), with the tomb site facing south. The tomb was restored again in 2008. In 379 AD, Xi Zhuozi moved from Hubei to Jiangxi and settled in Bamei, Xinyu. He became the founding ancestor of the Xi clan not only in Bamei but also across Jiangxi. Since then, the Xi descendants have thrived, spreading from here to leave Xinyu, leave Jiangxi, and later migrate to places such as Henan and Shaanxi. As a historical relic associated with a notable figure, the Tomb of Xi Zhuozi plays an important role in the study of the Xi clan’s migration and even ancient population movements.
