Qingta Lake is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Qingta Lake Scenic Area is located in Qingta Village, Piancheng Town, about 45 kilometers northeast of the county seat. It comprises attractions such as Qingta Lake, the resort village, Mother Pig Fort, Yue Fei Temple, Old Border Wall, Black Dragon Cave, and Stone Buddha Overlooking the Sea.

Completed in 1977, Qingta Lake has a water storage capacity of 12.71 million cubic meters. The lake area lies in a high mountainous zone at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, making it a typical high-mountain gorge reservoir. Standing on the dam of Qingta Lake and looking around: to the west, the silhouette of Mother Pig Fort is vividly clear; to the east, the ancient path of Old Border Wall stretches into the distance; to the north, the cliffs of High Pass Pond rise steeply; to the south, a thousand stone steps lead up to the viewing platform.

The entire scenic area features rippling blue waters surrounded by peaks. It greets the morning sunrise and bathes in the evening glow, with willows swaying, boats gliding, anglers fishing, small bridges over flowing streams, and smoke rising from cottages — a vision of the beauty of the Taihang Mountains akin to West Lake, and the charm of a paradise on earth. The Qingta Lake Scenic Area integrates flood control, irrigation, tourism, fitness, recuperation, leisure, summer retreat, and conference facilities.
