China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum

The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum is located in the northwest of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, China, covering an area of 154.2 acres with a main building area of 23,332 square meters.

The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum is a national-level thematic museum that reflects the historical relationship between mainland China and the treasure island of Taiwan. The museum integrates functions such as collection, exhibition, research, exchange, and service, and serves as an important academic institution for studying the history of cross-strait relations, especially those between Fujian and Taiwan.

The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum has been awarded the title of “National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base” by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, “National Youth Education Base” by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, “National First-Class Museum” by the National Cultural Heritage Administration, and “Cross-Strait Exchange Base” by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Main Building

The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum adopts a design concept of “round sky and square earth,” featuring four diagonal ramps

that cut through the roof. Each ramp has 108 steps leading directly to the observation terrace on the top of the museum, offering a panoramic view of downtown Quanzhou. The entire structure makes full use of red bricks and white stone. The China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum is a perfect example of traditional and modern Min-Tai architectural fusion, with public areas such as the atrium, corridors, and guest lounges featuring the decorative technique of “brick-and-stone interlayer” unique to southern Fujian.

Museum Roof

At the top of the China Fujian-Taiwan Kinship Museum stands a golden “Peace Lotus” sculpture, which is 6.2 meters high and has a maximum diameter

of 4 meters, making it highly visible atop the roof. The diagonal ramps leading to the observation terrace incorporate the Confucian philosophy of “all things return to their roots” and elements of southern Fujian architecture, and the placement of the “Peace Lotus” further reinforces this concept.

In Front of the Museum

In front of the main building lies a large 20,000-square-meter landscape plaza, featuring the “Nine-Dragon Pillars” at the entrance,

which are 19 meters high and 2 meters in diameter—making them the tallest pair of “Nine-Dragon Pillars” on the Chinese mainland. The pillars weigh 135 tons, while the reclining stele in front measures 12 meters wide, 2.5 meters high, 1 meter thick, and weighs 70 tons, carved from a single piece of long stone. The center features a massive pool that is 74 meters long and 18 meters wide, reflecting the main building in its waters. This large pool is designed with the water inlet raised 0.2 meters higher, so the water continuously flows outward from the inside.
