Qingshui Mountain Shizhi Rock

The religious site “Shizhi Rock” is one of the ancient Thirty-Six Rocks of Qingshui Mountain. Together with “Mituo Rock” and “Qianshou Rock,” it enshrines the “Three Saints of the West” in Buddhism—Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. The presence of all three saints on a single mountain like Qingshui is an extremely rare phenomenon across China.

To restore the religious and cultural landscape of Shizhi Rock, in 2004, the site was rebuilt with social funding in compliance with regulations. After several years of intensive construction, Shizhi Rock has now been completed.

Officials from the Qingshui Mountain Management Committee stated that the reconstructed Shizhi Rock is situated in harmony with the mountain’s terrain, boasts a serene environment, and features a well-planned layout. The statues of the “Three Saints of the West” enshrined at Shizhi Rock were custom-made in Xianyu. Carved entirely from nanmu wood with exquisite craftsmanship, the statues stand 4.2 meters tall. “The statues are masterfully crafted, exceptionally large in scale, and are expected to become a treasured landmark of Qingshui Mountain.”
