Xunpu Shunji Palace

Era: Ming and Qing dynasties

Location: Xunpu Community, Donghu Subdistrict, Fengze District, Quanzhou City

Introduction: Originally built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1573–1620), it was renovated during the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China period. Facing south, the palace covers a construction area of over 400 square meters. The eastern wall inside the mountain gate contains the “Inscribed Stele of Meritorious Deeds of Liu, Commander of the Quanzhou Naval Division” from the 18th year of the Shunzhi reign in the Qing Dynasty (1661), and the “Public Prohibition Stele” from the first year of the Republic of China. Two stone tablets inscribed with “Méiyún Pǔyìn” (Broad Blessings from Clouds over the Meizhou Sea) by Huang Yiguo are embedded in the stone-paved enclosing wall.

Protected Area: Extending 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2009, Xunpu Shunji Palace was designated as part of the seventh batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Donghu Subdistrict: The Donghu Subdistrict Office is located in the cultural, sports, and commercial district of downtown Quanzhou, covering an area of 5 square kilometers. It administers 8 community neighborhood committees, with a permanent population of 53,600. In 2006, the total industrial output value reached 1.76 billion yuan, including 1.405 billion yuan in industrial production and 283 million yuan in export value, generating a total industrial and commercial tax revenue of 180 million yuan.

The subdistrict hosts over 56 municipal-level and above institutions such as the Municipal People's Bank of China and the Municipal Sports Bureau.
