Julong Temple was first built in the ninth year of the Kaiyuan era of the Tang Dynasty (721 AD), commonly known as Wacui Ping, and has been renovated through successive dynasties. The temple boasts breathtaking scenery, grand architecture, and lush bamboo groves. It is a sacred Buddhist site and one of Fujian Province’s “Four Famous Temples,” with followers spread across the world. The temple buildings are majestic, making it not only a destination for Buddhist disciples but also a must-visit place for scholars and poets throughout history. In 1933, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and Peng Dehuai led the Red Army through Fengxi on their way from Jianning and visited the temple out of admiration.

The temple originally consisted of over 120 structures of various sizes, including the Guanyin Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Lower Hall, Abbot's Building, Scripture Depository, Mountain-Viewing Tower, monks’ quarters, dining hall, and kitchen, forming an architectural complex spanning more than 1,600 square meters. The original layout has now been restored, making it a key site for Buddhist activities and a cultural heritage protection unit.   Ticket/

Fengxi Township: Located in the northwest of Mingxi County, Fengxi Township borders Xiabang Township to the east, Quanshang in Ninghua County to the south, Shuixi in Ninghua County to the west, and Jun口 Township in Jianning County to the north. Fengxi Township is a remote mountainous area, with its township seat situated at an altitude of 645 meters and located 72 kilometers from the county seat. It is the highest-altitude and most remote township in Mingxi County, sometimes referred to as the “Siberia of Mingxi.” The total land area of Fengxi Township is 123.2 square kilometers, including 159,000 mu of mountainous land and 11,000 mu of arable land.
