The former site of the headquarters of the 39th Regiment, 13th Division, 4th Red Army, located at the Su Family Courtyard, is situated at No. 53, Xiajie Street, Hufang Village, Hufang Town, Mingxi County.

From June 20 to 22, 1931, the General Front Committee of the 4th Red Army successively held an expanded meeting, a standing committee meeting, and a ninth meeting to discuss military supply-related matters. It was decided that the main forces of the Red Army should move toward northwest Fujian, quickly disperse to raise 1.1 million yuan in funds, with instructions for “the 4th Red Army (minus one division) to take the route through Sha County to disperse and raise funds, then divide forces to enter both Huiliu (Huihua) and Yong’an counties to raise 400,000 yuan.” According to the deployment, the 4th Red Army used the three counties of Mingxi, Qingliu, and Liancheng as its operational area for fundraising. In the latter part of the month, the 13th Division of the 4th Red Army entered areas southwest of Mingxi including Hufang, Fengcuo, Baiheng, Fuxi, Xiabian, Yufang, Yanqian, and Shaxi to carry out fundraising activities. At the same time, they mobilized the masses to launch anti-rent and anti-debt struggles under the slogans “No grain tax” and “No debts to local tyrants,” and guided the local Party organizations in establishing political power. During this period, the 39th Regiment of the 13th Division of the 4th Red Army, led by Song Renqiong, set up its headquarters at the Su Family Courtyard on the old street of Hufang.

The Su Family Courtyard, which served as the headquarters of the 39th Regiment of the 13th Division of the 4th Red Army, faces south and is rectangular in layout. It is a brick-and-wood structure building from the Qing Dynasty, consisting from north to south of an enclosing wall, a courtyard, an upper hall, and a flower stand. It has a total width of 18.45 meters and a depth of 18.6 meters, covering an area of approximately 325 square meters. The main structure, the upper hall, has three bays in width and seven pillars in depth, with a post-and-lintel wooden structure and a gable-and-hip roof. The lower hall has three bays in width and three pillars in depth. The floors are paved with blue bricks and stone slabs. On the left side, there is a row of wing rooms connected to the main building by a covered walkway.
