Xiufeng Pavilion

Xiufeng Pavilion is located on Xianling Mountain at Liutang Reservoir in Guanqian Town, 46 kilometers from the county seat. It was built in the second year of the Taiding era of the Yuan Dynasty (1325 AD). During the Jingtai era of the Ming Dynasty (1450–1456), its presence became known in the capital, leading to an imperial decree that honored it as the Palace Master and granted permission to construct the Golden Throne Hall. Hence the saying: “If you haven’t seen the Golden Throne, come see Xiufeng; Xiufeng Pavilion rivals the Golden Throne in splendor.” The pavilion buildings are divided into upper and lower halls. The upper hall is the Golden Throne Hall (main hall), enshrining statues of the Three Ma Goddesses. The main hall is surrounded by a red wall, with a gate tower at the front, and in front of that lies the lower hall, also known as the second gate tower. The lower hall is the Sanbao Hall, which has both upper and lower sections. To the left of the Sanbao Hall is the Imperial Edict Tower, which houses imperial edict plaques, and to the right is the Guanyin Pavilion, enshrining the statue of Guanyin.

It also displays a statue of Zhu Xi. Xiufeng Pavilion is nestled against the mountain and faces the water. The entire structure follows the style of an imperial palace, featuring a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, upturned eaves, carved beams and painted rafters, red walls, green tiles, and a resplendent golden appearance. Its total construction area exceeds 2,000 square meters. In 1966, it was destroyed. In November 1995, local villagers donated funds for its reconstruction. After two years, the main hall was completed, restoring its former grandeur. Not only does Xiufeng Pavilion resemble the Golden Throne in architectural majesty and splendor, but it is also situated in a breathtaking location. Before it lies a vast expanse of reservoir, offering beautiful lake and mountain views, blue waters against the blue sky, with numerous peaks stretching into the distance, lush green mountains, and murmuring streams. At its base are terraced orchards laden with oranges. It is an ideal destination for sightseeing, summer retreats, and vacationing.
