Lianhe Township is located in the northern part of Youxi County and is designated as a revolutionary base area township by the province. It has a mid-subtropical monsoon humid climate, covering a land area of 159 square kilometers with 12 administrative villages and a population of 21,000. The transportation here is convenient.

Lianhe Township features distinctive natural landscapes and rich tourism resources. Firstly, its terraced fields are considered the most beautiful in the whole province. Nearly 10,000 acres of terraces are distributed at the foot of the picturesque Jinsi Mountain, stretching across eight villages including Lianhe, Liannan, Lianxi, Dongbian, Yunshan, and Xiayun. The terraces span dozens of miles in one continuous expanse—vast in scale and majestic in presence. They lie at altitudes ranging from 200 to 1,000 meters, where clouds, mountains, water, and fields merge organically into a breathtaking panorama. Secondly, the area offers a rich variety of natural scenery. It includes Jinsi Mountain, which stands at an altitude of 1,311 meters and is covered in blooming azaleas in spring, as well as endless bamboo forests that resemble a sea of green. There's also Naoyang, which has been submitted for provincial-level wetland park designation. Thirdly, it has profound historical and cultural heritage. Time-honored legends and stories shroud Lianhe in mystery, hinting at a deep cultural foundation. The ancient Fuhuyan scenic area, a relic from the Southern Song Dynasty, dates back over 800 years and continues to attract worshippers. A red tourism route is formed by sites related to the revolutionary struggles of southern, Youxi, and Sha counties, along with monuments to martyrs. The area can be developed for photography tours, rural sightseeing, pilgrimage trips, leisure vacations, and red tourism. Fourthly, it produces high-quality agricultural products at affordable prices. As a typical mountainous agricultural township, Lianhe specializes in characteristic industries such as ginkgo, rice, tea, peanuts, bamboo, premium fruits, and vegetables. The township has 17,134 acres of bamboo forests, 800 acres of ginkgo, 5,912 acres of tea plantations, 6,430 acres of premium fruit orchards (including citrus, navel oranges, pomelos, and waxberries), and 2,096 acres of oil-tea camellia.

In recent years, the fame of Lianhe Terraces has been steadily growing. Since 2008, they have been honored as one of China’s Five Most Charming Terraces and one of the Top Ten Scenic Spots of Discovered West Coast Beauty. They have also been designated as a Fujian Provincial Photography Creation Base, attracting visitors from all over the country. Local villagers have built farm stays and rural guesthouses, now accommodating thousands of tourists daily.
