Date: Qing Dynasty

Location: Guifeng Village, Yangzhong Town, Youxi County

Introduction: Comprising a main gate, central hall, loft hall, study room, and more, it covers an area of 1,200 square meters. The main gate is inscribed with “Continuing the Glory of Xishan”; on either side of the gate tower are money vaults, and the central hall features exquisitely carved beams and brackets. A study room is located to the left of the main hall, featuring an inkstone-washing pool and a stone flower stand; on both sides of the “Loft Hall” are library buildings, among others.

Protected Area: East to the small stream that runs through the village; south to the stone-paved path; west to the stone-paved hill ridge; north to the former elementary school playground outside the enclosing wall.

In 2009, the Cai Family Residence in Guifeng was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Guifeng Village: Awarded the title of “Historical and Cultural Village” by the People’s Government of Fujian Province in January 2003.

Guifeng Village is located northeast of Yangzhong Town. The village office is just 500 meters in a straight line from the Beijing–Fuzhou Expressway. The village has 349 households and a population of 1,268. At an elevation of 550 meters, it lies in a semi-mountainous valley. Surrounded by mountains and often shrouded in mist, it boasts beautiful scenery, pleasant climate, and was historically praised as the “Valley of Wisdom in the Mountains” and the “Fairyland Amidst Clouds.”

Guifeng has a long history.
