The former site of the Red Fourth Army Division Headquarters in Youxi is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of the Red Fourth Army Division Headquarters in Youxi is located in Tuanjie Village, Xicheng Town, Youxi County, dating back to 1934.

Description: Originally the ancestral home of the Wang family, built during the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty (1796–1820), it faces northeast and sits southwest. It served as the headquarters for the Fourth Division of the Eastern Army when they attacked Youxi County. On January 11, 1934, under the leadership of Peng Dehuai, the Eastern Army, while attacking Shaxian, ordered the Fourth Division of the Third Red Army Corps to advance into Youxi to assist the 19th Red Army Division in attacking the county town. They severely damaged the 11th Regiment of the bandit forces led by Lu, killing the regiment commander Chen Zuoyuan. The walls of the lower hall at the site still bear over ten slogans written in brush by the Red Army at that time, including the “Song of the March,” all signed off as “Red Army 0-(Proclamation).”

Protected area: 10 meters beyond the perimeter walls on the east and west sides, and to the southern bank of the Qingyin Stream on the north side.

In 2018, the former site of the Red Fourth Army Division Headquarters in Youxi was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Tuanjie Village: Located in the suburbs, Tuanjie Village is the central village of Xicheng Town. It is 5 kilometers from the county seat. The under-construction “Xiangtang-Putian” Railway runs through 2 kilometers of the village, and the Youxi Railway Station of the Xiangtang-Putian Railway is situated by the large pond in the village. The upcoming Xiamen-Shaixi Expressway will also pass through the village, which is set to become a transportation hub for Youxi County in the future. The village currently has 6 natural villages, 16 village groups, 618 households, and a total population of 2,440, including 1,255 males and 1,185 females, with 1,321 laborers.
