The Xu Family Courtyard in Yongkou is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Xu Family Courtyard in Yongkou is located in Yongkou Village, Xibin Town, Youxi County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Introduction: Constructed in the 16th year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1836), it faces west with an eastward orientation. The floor plan is rectangular in the front and circular at the back, featuring an asymmetrical layout that is lower in the front and higher in the back. It comprises a small pathway in front of the gate, multiple steps, a courtyard, an honorary plaque, the lower hall, the upper hall, a south wing, a north wing with a tower, a study building, a running horse path, fortress walls, and more, covering a construction area of 4,440 square meters. The upper hall is five bays wide and six pillars deep, featuring a post-and-lintel beam frame and a flush gable roof. The complex is a large-scale defensive rural residence integrating residential functions with anti-enemy fortification, embodying elements of earthen fortress architecture.

In 2013, the Xu Family Courtyard in Yongkou was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: To the east, up to the west edge of Provincial Highway 316; to the north, up to the edge of the village road; to the south and west, 100 meters beyond the surrounding walls.

Yongkou Village: Yongkou Village is one of the relocation villages from the Shuikou Hydropower Station reservoir area and one of the villages traversed by the Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway. It is located at the southwestern corner of Xibin Town, bordered by Zhentou Mountain to the east and adjacent to Houlou, connected to Hualan and Qidou to the south, neighboring Qili and Meixian Kedi Village to the west, and facing Liuban across the river to the north. The village has a total of 457 households and 1,862 residents, including 983 males and 879 females, organized into 17 villager groups across 7 natural villages, covering a total area of 26 square kilometers.
