Ancient Relics Hall

The Ancient Relics Hall is a cultural tourism attraction.

On the left side of Qingliang Temple on Mount Zhanlu stands a side hall called the Ancient Relics Hall. Originally known as the Ou Ye Ancestral Hall, it was built by later generations in honor of Ou Yezi. Perhaps due to the excessive bloodshed associated with the Zhanlu Sword, which drew some public criticism, a temple was erected here. The fierce statue of Ou Yezi was replaced with a benevolent, golden-faced Buddha. Even the name of Ou Yezi seemed to be considered inauspicious, prompting the renaming of the ancestral hall.

However, no matter how later generations may view him, the master swordsmith Ou Yezi left behind a precious cultural legacy and spiritual wealth. Although the legendary Zhanlu Sword he forged has been lost to time, we can still feel its radiant legacy today. “Ou Yezi departed long ago, yet the Zhanlu Sword’s glory endures.” More than two thousand years have passed since the late Spring and Autumn period. History has moved forward, and successive generations continue to seek that ancient and splendid civilization.
