Zhulin Kiln Site

The Zhulin Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Songxi County.

The Zhulin Kiln Site is located on the eastern side of Zhulin Village, Weitian Town. It was a folk kiln from the Qing Dynasty. The kiln features a long, narrow structure built with river pebbles on the outside and bricks on the inside. The remaining section is 12.5 meters long and 4 meters wide, covering an area of about 50 square meters. The pile of discarded porcelain is about 1 meter thick. The kiln faces southeast (155 degrees) from its northwest position. The firing technique involved stacking saggars, and the main products were celadon-glazed and blue-and-white porcelain, including items such as bowls and plates. It belongs to the Longquan Kiln tradition. The protected area extends 10 meters outward in all directions.

The Zhulin Kiln Site has been designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Zhulin Village: Zhulin Village is located in the southern part of Songxi, 42 kilometers from the county seat and 6 kilometers from the town government. The village has a rich revolutionary heritage. It currently comprises 8 villager groups, with 206 households and a population of 748, including 22 Party members and 1 probationary member. The village has 735 mu of arable land and a total forested area of 7,436 mu (including ecological forests, state-owned forests, and forest company-managed areas). It is a pilot village for building a new socialist countryside, with tobacco cultivation as its leading industry.
