Tangguantun Iron Bridge

The Tangguantun Iron Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Tianjin Municipality.

The Tangguantun Iron Bridge is located 8 li south of Shaoyaopen Village, Tangguantun, Jinghai County, Tianjin, and was built in the first year of the Xuantong era of the Qing Dynasty (1909).

Constructed in 1909, it spans the upper reaches of the Machang Sluice River and functioned as a pedestrian bridge next to the Tianjin–Pukou Railway (it is believed to have originally been a railway bridge for the Tianjin–Pukou Railway, but was later made redundant and converted into a pedestrian bridge due to a change in the railway route). The bridge features a steel frame with a wooden deck, stretching 40 meters in length and 4 meters in width. Its ends are supported by concrete piers, with two steel beams laid horizontally and triangular steel frames standing 4 meters high on both sides, forming a square framework.

On January 5, 2013, it was designated as part of the fourth group of Cultural Relic Protection Units of Tianjin Municipality by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government.
