Hutou Village

Hutou Village is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Hutou Village in Xiaosong Town is located in the northern suburbs of Jian’ou City, 13 kilometers from the urban area. It administers eight natural villages and 21 villager groups, with 863 households and a population of 3,278. The village Party general branch has set up three Party branches in the public service center, cultural and sports activity center, and fruit and vegetable professional cooperative, with 91 Party members and eight village cadres. The total land area of the village is 16.28 square kilometers, including 4,482 mu of arable land and 17,308 mu of mountainous land. In 2014, the per capita income of farmers was 14,410 yuan. In November 2013, it was designated as a national pilot village for the creation of “Beautiful Villages.”

Relying on natural elements such as the Xiaosong Stream and ancient camphor trees, and combining the architectural style of the old village’s traditional houses, the village has tapped into the cultural heritage of the “Tai Bao” and restored structures such as “Ancient Residential Houses,” “Ancient Gateways,” “Tu Zhu Temple,” and “Gold-Hiding Pavilion.” It has also built new scenic spots like the “Tai Bao Gate,” “Bangyan Gate,” and “Chaori Pavilion,” all rich in historical significance.

An interactive mechanism has been established where agriculture supports tourism and tourism promotes agriculture. Five sightseeing and picking gardens have been created for crops such as red grapes, blueberries, strawberries, watermelons, and cherry tomatoes, and a “Farmhouse Tourism Association” has been established.

The village has developed distinctive tourism projects. Hutou Village offers over ten types of leisure and sightseeing activities, including farmhouse dining, accommodation, cycling, fruit picking, barbecuing, fishing, lotus viewing, strolling through the fruit and vegetable corridor, and shopping. Efforts are focused on building an ecological and tourism-oriented Hutou, creating a beautiful environment for visitors.
