The Beijin Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Jian'ou City is located in Xudun Town, Jian'ou, approximately 7 kilometers from downtown Jian'ou and 90 kilometers from Wuyishan City. It lies at the southern foot of the Wuyi Mountains, a national 5A-level nature reserve, along the Jianxi River, a tributary of the upper reaches of the Min River. The scenic area consists of the surrounding mountainous regions of Beijin Reservoir, Honghu Reservoir, and Yangdun Reservoir.

The scenic area remains lush and green throughout the seasons, with clear waters and an abundance of streams. The main river channel upstream of the Beijin Reservoir dam site stretches 220 km, controlling a drainage area of 9,705 km², accounting for 59.1% of the Jianxi River basin. The reservoir area is long and narrow, featuring picturesque scenery and abundant rainfall, allowing for beautiful views to be enjoyed all year round. A notable feature of the Beijin Lake Scenic Area is the harmonious integration of its landscape, where the scenic Beijin Lake connects seamlessly with three elegant peaks—Jiang Guizong Rock, Gem Rock, and Plum Rock—and the national AAA-level scenic spot, China Root Carving City. Along the 25 km winding lakeshore, dense forests thrive. The landscape is graceful and refined, embodying tranquility, serenity, purity, and beauty. The lake's surface is as smooth as a mirror; the setting sun glows like molten gold. Boating on Beijin Lake allows visitors to experience the poetic scene of “sunset clouds flying with a lone duck, autumn water blending with the boundless sky.” The Guizong Rock Scenic Area is a provincial-level scenic spot in Fujian Province, renowned for its stunning beauty and often referred to as “Little Wuyi Mountain.” The area boasts rich and concentrated scenic resources, where Guizong Rock and Beijin Lake complement each other with their interplay of peaks, rocks, and streams. The environmental quality is exceptional, with well-preserved soil, air, water sources, and vegetation, minimal human disturbance, and forest coverage exceeding 95%. With an average annual temperature of 14–20°C, it serves as an ideal destination for leisure and summer retreats.
