Fangdao Town: Located on the southeastern side of the Wuyi Mountains, Fangdao Town lies in the southwestern part of Jian'ou City. To the east, it neighbors Ouning and Nanya; to the northeast, it borders Xudun; to the south and west, it adjoins Shunchang County; and to the north, it connects with Jiyang. It is one of the first batch of provincial science and technology demonstration towns.
The town covers an area of 244.73 square kilometers, comprising 20 administrative villages, 96 natural villages, and 168 villager groups. By the end of 1998, the population was 35,116, including approximately 357 people from the She ethnic minority.
