Martyrs' Tomb of Jiang Laowei at Meiling, Dikou

The Martyrs' Tomb of Jiang Laowei at Meiling, Dikou is a cultural relic protection unit of Jian’ou City.

The Martyrs' Tomb of Jiang Laowei at Meiling, Dikou is located in Meiling Natural Village, Xiafang Village, Dikou Town, with a modern origin and categorized as a tomb.

The tomb is located on the mountainside west of Pingluxia Mountain in Meiling Natural Village, Xiafang Village, Dikou Town, Jian’ou City. It faces southwest from the northeast direction, taking a small “eight” character shape. The tombstone is 0.6 meters high and 0.4 meters wide. The side walls of the tomb are constructed with square bricks and cement. The inscription on the stone tablet reads vertically in regular script: “Tomb of Revolutionary Martyr Jiang Laowei.” The tombstone was erected in December 1953 after being renovated, by the Sixth District Office of Jian’ou County People’s Government. According to local elders, Jiang Laowei was born in 1916 and joined the Red Army in 1933. He fought in areas such as Gutian before falling ill and passing away in Meiling Natural Village in 1941. He was posthumously recognized as a martyr in 1953. The tomb plays an active role in revolutionary education for young people.

On April 28, 2020, Jian’ou Municipal People’s Government announced it as part of the fifth batch of cultural relic protection units of Jian’ou City.

Protected Area: The tomb faces northeast from the southwest, with the tomb structure itself (including a section of the mountain path that has been hardened with cement and integrated into the tomb platform) covering an area of 71.3 square meters, forming an irregular trapezoidal protected zone. The southwest boundary of the protected area is 8.5 meters long, the northwest side is 7.1 meters, the northeast side is 6.2 meters, and the southeast polyline edge measures a total of 13.5 meters.

Construction Control Zone: The control zone is based on the protected area and is trapezoidal in shape, extending 15 meters to the west, approximately 35 meters southwest to the Dikou–Meiling Cement Road at the southwest corner, 17.1 meters to the northwest, 15.5 meters to the northeast, and 15.3 meters to the southeast up to a small hill. The total construction control area is 1,860.7 square meters.
