The Memorial Hall of the Site of the April 9th Uprising in Fuyang (hereinafter referred to as the "April 9th Memorial Hall") currently covers an area of 5,700 square meters, with an exhibition space of 300 square meters. It includes three exhibition rooms, ten display cabinets, and over 30 revolutionary relics. Preserved revolutionary sites on the premises include the Crescent Pond, Dry Ditch, and Square Pond. There is also a white marble revolutionary memorial monument with steps consisting of four sets of nine stairs, symbolizing "April 9th." A date jujube tree planted by revolutionary martyrs with their own hands still stands on the site. The exhibition rooms are divided into three sections: "Fuyang in Profound Disaster," "The April 9th Uprising in Fuyang," and "Honoring the Martyrs and Building Fuyang." The site is open to the public free of charge. On April 9, 1928, Wei Yexiu, Secretary of the Northern Anhui Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, organized and led a large-scale armed uprising in Fuyang. Participants included the Training Regiment of the 19th Army (under Gao Guizhi), the Military Academy of the 10th Army (under Yang Hucheng), and peasant Red Guards organized by the local Communist Party in Fuyang. Later, due to a siege by Nationalist forces, the uprising troops ran out of ammunition and supplies and were defeated. Over 80 Communists, peasant Red Guards, and revolutionary civilians sacrificed their lives. This uprising was a courageous practice by the Communist Party of China in implementing the spirit of the August 7th Meeting, using revolutionary armed forces to resist the reactionary Kuomintang. It greatly inspired the fighting spirit of the people, struck a blow against the enemy's arrogance, accumulated experience in armed struggle, and trained and tempered cadres. After liberation, the local Party committee established the Memorial Hall of the Site of the April 9th Uprising at Wangguanji, the original site of the uprising, which has since become a vivid and powerful educational site for revolutionary tradition, communist ideals, and patriotism.
