Jiaogang Lake Fishing Village Tourism Demonstration Site

The facilities at the Jiaogang Lake Fishing Village Tourism Demonstration Site are largely well-developed. There is a visitor reception center that offers guided tours and video presentations, as well as entertainment venues showcasing local folk performances such as Huagudeng and Tui Opera. Each attraction site features distinctive restaurants where visitors can sample local delicacies including green shrimp, river crab, soft-shell turtle, mandarin fish, as well as pure natural products such as wild geese, ducks, pheasants, gorgon fruit, and water caltrop.

Located in the southeastern part of Jiaogang Lake, north of the reed marshes. Here, the lotus flowers are vibrant and enchanting, with up to 56 varieties representing China’s 56 ethnic groups, hence earning the name “Chinese Lotus Garden.” Strolling through this scenic area gives visitors the feeling of “a serene heart admiring the soul of the lotus, where the beauty of the flowers fades only to reveal an even lovelier you.” In addition to admiring the gorgeous lotus blossoms and breathing in their fragrant scent carried by the breeze, visitors can also take small boats to pick lotus pods, harvest water caltrop, and gather gorgon fruit.

At the same time, the essence of Jiaogang Lake is a paradise for birds. In spring, the reeds sprout and swallows keep company; in summer, hundreds of birds gather to breed; in autumn, reed catkins flutter and egrets roost overnight, resembling magnolia blossoms in bloom; in winter, wild geese descend and ducks accompany the scene, creating naturally beautiful snowy landscapes on the lake. Visitors here can not only enjoy the natural scenery of the reed marshes, experience its mysterious allure, and feel the wild charm of the reeds, but also observe various species of wild waterfowl such as swans, wild geese, cranes, ducks, and river gulls.
