Shouxian County Cultural Center

The Shouxian County Cultural Center serves as a patriotic education base.

The Shouxian County Cultural Center was established in 1952. It is located within the Shouzhou Confucius Temple, a provincial-level cultural heritage site situated in the middle section of West Street in the old town area of Shouxian. Covering an area of 5,740 square meters, the center houses venues such as the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall, Calligraphy and Fine Arts Exhibition Hall, Dacheng Hall, and Minglun Hall. Among these, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall was built in 2011. Themed “The Charm of Chu and Han,” it is divided into four sections: Cultural Shouxian, Fascinating Shouxian, Colorful Shouxian, and Hopeful Shouxian. It provides a comprehensive and vivid showcase of notable historical figures, legends, anecdotes, and intangible cultural heritage items from Shouxian, including the Zhengyangguan Shoulder Pole and Lifted Stage Performances, Bagongshan Tofu Making Techniques, Shouxian Gongs and Drums, and the Purple Gold Inkstone—some of which are recognized at the national and provincial levels.
