The Tomb of Liu An, King of Huainan, and His Family is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Tomb of Liu An, King of Huainan, and His Family is located in Daquan Village and Tuanjie Village, about 2 kilometers north of Shouxian County. The burial complex lies against Bagong Mountain to the north and faces the Fei River to the south, stretching over a narrow area of 2 kilometers.

There are two extant earthen mound tombs: one is located on the southern slope of Laomuzhu Mountain in Tuanjie Village, Bagongshan Township, where a stele inscribed with “Tomb of King Liu An of Han” stands. The other tomb mound is located to the east of Lujia Ying in Tuanjie Village, Bagongshan Township, and is known as the “Liu Family Ancient Mound Tomb.”

The “Tomb of King Liu An of Han” features a tomb mound shaped like an inverted trapezoid. At its base, a one-meter-high circular retaining wall made of bluestone stretches 120 meters in circumference, with the mound itself rising 6 meters. The “Liu Family Ancient Mound Tomb” has a round, domed shape, built from rammed earth, covering an area of about 601 square meters. Around the tomb, a large number of small to medium-sized Han Dynasty tombs and pit graves have been discovered. Artifacts such as specimens and architectural remnants from the Western and Eastern Han periods have been collected within the burial site. Other unearthed relics include jade bi discs, bronze swords, bronze mirrors, and pottery figurines.

Liu An, a literary figure and philosopher of the Western Han Dynasty, compiled the *Huainanzi*, a work of significant academic and historical value for the study of the Western Han Dynasty’s culture, astronomy, geography, economy, and philosophy.

Both tombs date back to the Western Han period and are of similar age, holding great importance for the research of the history and culture of the Kingdom of Huainan, as well as for Han archaeology and culture.

Protected Area: Centered on the tomb mound, extending 70 meters east, 93 meters west, 35 meters south to Beishan Road, and 80 meters north.
