Main Gate of the Shouzhou General's Office

The main gate of the Shouzhou General's Office is a cultural relic protection unit of Huainan City.

The main gate of the Shouzhou General's Office is located at No. 67, East Street, Shouchun Town, and was originally the main gate of Shouxian No. 3 Middle School. Constructed in the 26th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty, it faces south. Currently, the surviving structures include the gatehouse and the two side halls for drums and music. The gatehouse is three bays wide and two bays deep, featuring a flush-gable roof covered in tile, with both the central and side bays constructed using post-and-lintel framing. The east-side drum hall and west-side music hall are each one bay wide and one bay deep, with a gable-and-hip roof and raised-beam construction. This building is currently the only remaining military-cultural structure in our county and serves as physical evidence for the study of Shouxian’s military culture and history. In October 1994, it was designated as part of the first batch of county-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Shouxian County; in May 2017, it was listed as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Huainan City.
