Feixia Park

Feixia Park is located in the Gulu Management Area of Shucheng County’s county town, bordering Chengguan Longjin Road along National Highway 206 to the east, adjacent to the Cultural Square and Longtou Tower to the west, and surrounded by commercial and residential areas to the south and north. According to the Shucheng County Annals, this site was originally the former residence of Li Gonglin, a painter from the Song Dynasty, and his cousin Li Desu. Historically known as “Feixia Evening Glow,” it was one of the Eight Scenic Spots of ancient Shucheng.

Since the new era, the Shucheng County Party Committee and County Government, responding to public feedback, planned an urban garden district and invested in the construction of Feixia Park. Work began in November 1999 and took one year and ten months to complete, with the park opening in September 2001. Covering an area of 100 acres, Feixia Park is the largest and ecologically finest county-level park in Anhui Province. With high attention and careful preparation by the Shucheng County Party Committee and County Government, the park ended its “ticketed entry” history on April 26, 2007, and officially opened to the public for free.

Feixia Park has two main gates, eastern and western, welcoming the morning sunrise and bidding farewell to the evening glow. It integrates landscapes and embodies the essence of ancient charm from both the north and south. Within the park, there is one pavilion, two bridges, three wells, and four pavilions aligned along the central axis. To the north are the Returning Home Residence and Longmian Academy, among other classical-style buildings that showcase the achievements and virtues of ancient sages. To the south, visitors can admire root carvings and potted plants. To the east lies a children’s playground, while to the west there are corridors entwined with vines and flowers. A clear stream meanders through the park. Pines, bamboos, plum blossoms, orchids, and osmanthus form “gardens within the garden,” complemented by lawns, screen walls, arched bridges, and gateways. Strolling through the park not only satisfies your love and appreciation for beauty but also inspires a spirit of innovation and exploration. It provides an excellent environment for leisure and recreation.

Since its opening, Feixia Park has offered the people of Shucheng a beautiful environment for tourism, fitness, and leisure. Its free admission reflects the human-centered approach of Shucheng County’s urban development and has been widely praised by residents.
