Qide Garden

Qide Garden was invested and established by Hu Pengfei from Hsinchu City, Taiwan. Together with the completed Hanshou Street, it has become a highlight along the Wanfo Lake tourist route. It is located at the junction of Xin Yao and Shun He villages in Ganchahe Town, Shucheng County, 8 kilometers from the county town. It is the first scenic sight when traveling from the county town to the Wanfo Lake Scenic Area. Qide Garden is a non-profit facility built with an investment of 12 million yuan by Hu Pengfei, chairman of Taiwan’s Qide Hoisting Machinery Co., Ltd., similar to the Qide Cultural Institute. Covering an area of 72 acres, it features rare flowers, exotic trees, and prized potted plants collected from various regions. The garden now houses over 80 kinds of rare trees, including fragrant fruit trees, fish-scale wood, Baohua, and magnolia. There are also more than 3,000 exquisitely crafted and lifelike artistic potted plants, as well as over 500 types of rare flowers and plants. Visitors can enjoy beautiful blooms all year round, providing a refreshing and captivating experience. Among the green trees and red flowers are animal sculptures, upturned-eave pavilions, offering both the charm of winding paths leading to secluded spots and the refined pleasure of admiring fish in a flower-filled pond. Step into the teahouse for a cup of tea amidst the willows and fragrant breezes, making you feel completely relaxed and joyful.

The garden project was planned in the spring of 1997, with construction beginning in May. After two years of development, the garden took its initial shape. It now features over 50 kinds of rare trees such as fragrant fruit trees, fish-scale wood, Baohua, and magnolia; more than 2,000 artistic potted plants including the “Three Friends of Winter,” osmanthus and sandalwood, and “Pine and Crane for Longevity”; and over 500 types of various rare flowers and plants. The lush greenery shelters birdsong, fragrant blooms fill the air, and the climate remains spring-like all year. There are small bridges over flowing streams and meandering paths through secluded areas.

Qide Garden integrates landscapes with mountain and water scenery, gathering the essence of gardens from both northern and southern China. With its ingenious design and classic charm, it captivates visitors. Not only does it satisfy people’s aesthetic tastes and love for beauty, but it also provides an excellent example for transforming China's traditionally agriculture-focused model.

Shunhe Village: Shunhe Village is located 11 kilometers north of the Shuxiao Road, bordering Chengguan Town to the east, adjacent to Wuli Village of Chengguan Town to the south, and neighboring Wuyang and Hanwan villages to the west. It serves as the eastern gateway to Ganchahe Town. Provincial Highway S317 runs through the village, giving it a relatively advantageous geographic location. Within the village lies the Taiwan Qide Bonsai Garden and a 35KV substation. The village covers a total area of 1.5 square kilometers, governs 716 households, and has a population of 2,699, with 1,569 laborers. The total arable land is 1,062 mu, averaging 0.4 mu per person.
