Huacheng Ruins

The Huacheng Ruins are a protected cultural heritage site of Anhui Province.

The Huacheng Ruins are located in Huacheng Village, Bailin Township, Shucheng County, Anhui Province, about 5 kilometers from the county seat.

Huacheng is also known as Huajia City, Zhuzi Market, and Garden City. In the 1980s, the Anhui Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology carried out a careful exploration and investigation of the Huacheng Ruins, discovering a wealth of artifacts including pottery ding tripod feet, pottery li tripod feet, sandy clay pottery fragments, and shadow-blue porcelain fragments from the Song Dynasty, dating the site to the Shang-Zhou and Song periods as an ancient city ruin.

Huacheng Village: Located in the western suburbs of Shucheng County, at the 47-kilometer mark of the Lu-Shu-San Highway, Huacheng Village boasts a prime location and convenient transportation. Two provincially standardized “two institutes and one home” facilities are situated in the village: the Bailin Township Family Planning Service Office, Judicial Office, and Nursing Home. The village administers 7 villager groups, with 480 households and an agricultural population of 1,730, including 280 elderly residents. The arable land area covers 2,300 mu.

The village features flat terrain, fertile soil, and a well-developed water system, ensuring stable yields in both drought and flood seasons, with high per-unit grain output and premium quality.
