Xie Gong Shrine is a cultural tourism attraction.

Xie Tiao was a representative figure of Chinese landscape poetry. During his tenure as Prefect of Xuancheng, he was deeply enamored with the scenery of Qing Mountain in Dangtu, praising it as the “Capital of Landscapes.” He often traveled there on horseback, accompanied by ceremonial banners, to compose poetry. He built a residence on the southern side of the mountain, known as Xie’s Residence. In front of the residence lies a small pond, said to have been dug by Xie Tiao himself. It is called Xie Gong Pond, also known as Xie Gong Well. The water is clear and cool, and has never dried up. There is a “thousand-year-old red carp” in the pond, historically referred to as “Yuanhui Ancient Well.” Later, after he died unjustly in prison, local residents converted his residence into a memorial shrine. The poet Li Bai visited the site multiple times during his lifetime to pay his respects. Admission & Opening Hours

Address: Taibai Town, Dangtu County. Accessible by minibus from Ma'anshan to Dalong or Huangchi. From the Li Bai Tomb Garden, continue by bus for a short distance to reach the site.
