Jimei Archway

Jimei Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Jimei Archway is located in Daxiang, Daxing Village, Huyang Township, Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, right in the middle of the main lane, with the vast Shijiu Lake to its east. This stone archway is of the two-pillar memorial archway style, standing 7.63 meters tall. The central part of the archway’s front and back lintels bears two large regular script characters reading “Enrong” (Imperial Favor), while both horizontal plaques feature the three characters “Jimei Archway.” On the reverse side, the horizontal plaque is flanked by inscriptions reading “Erected anew on the auspicious day of the first month of the first year of the Wanli era in the Ming Dynasty by Ding Maoru, Prefect of Taiping Prefecture, Chenzuomin, Vice Prefect, Hu Ruli, Deputy Magistrate, Liu Gai, Judicial Commissioner, and Zhang Honggang, Magistrate of Dangtu County, in honor of Xing Xun, Father, Provincial Governor of Jiangxi and Jiajing-era Jinshi (Imperial Examination Graduate) of the Chongzhen Year; Xing Zhi, Son, Magistrate of Pucheng County, Fujian, and Local Juren (Provincial Graduate) of the Renwu Year; and Xing Zhi, Son, Censor of Shandong Province, Director of the Shandong Transport Office, and Jiajing-era Jinshi of the Renchen Year.”
