The Chendun Site

The Chendun Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Ma'anshan.

The Chendun Site: Located on the earthen mound in Chendong Natural Village, Lingxu Administrative Village, Gushu Town, Dangtu County. It dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

On November 9, 2010, the Chendun Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan.

Protected area: 10 meters beyond the site itself; construction control zone: 20 meters beyond the site itself.

Gushu Town: Known as the "Pearl of Jiangdong," Gushu Town was established in 2004 through the merger of the former Chengguan Town, Weiping Township, parts of Huangshan Township, and parts of Xin Qiao Township. The newly formed Gushu Town has a population of 130,000 and covers an area of 110 square kilometers, comprising 22 villages and 8 community committees. It is the largest administrative town in the county and also serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of Dangtu County. The ancient town area was historically known as Gushu and boasts a long history. The town was first fortified during the Huangwu era of the Three Kingdoms period and served as the gateway to Jinling, the capital of the Six Dynasties. It features beautiful landscapes, rich cultural heritage, numerous historical sites, and profound cultural roots.
