Shenduntou Site

The Shenduntou Site is a cultural heritage protection unit in Ma'anshan.

Shenduntou Site: Located about 150 meters north of Qianhu Natural Village, Wulian Natural Village, Gushu Town, Dangtu County.

On November 9, 2010, the Shenduntou Site was designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan.

It dates back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. The protected area extends 10 meters beyond the site itself, while the construction control zone extends 20 meters beyond the site.

Gushu Town: Known as the "Pearl of the Jiangdong Region," Gushu Town was established in 2004 through the merger of the former Chengguan Town, Weiping Township, parts of Huangshan Township, and parts of Xinqiao Township. The merged Gushu Town has a population of 130,000 and covers an area of 110 square kilometers, comprising 22 villages and 8 community neighborhood committees. It is the largest administrative town in the county and also serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of Dangtu County. The ancient urban area was historically known as Gushu and boasts a long history. The town was first fortified during the Huangwu era of the Three Kingdoms period and served as the gateway to Jinling, the capital of the Six Dynasties.
