Longxu Lake Scenic Area

The Longxu Lake Scenic Area is located 5 kilometers northeast of Langxi County’s urban area, just one hour away from Nanjing and Tianmu Lake Scenic Area in Liyang City. During the wet season, the water surface of the Longxu Lake Reservoir can reach 2.668 million square meters, with a total storage capacity of 3.25 million cubic meters. It is a medium-sized reservoir that integrates comprehensive benefits such as flood control, water supply, irrigation, aquaculture, and tourism. The Longxu Lake Scenic Area is centered around the Longxu Lake Reservoir and surrounded by rolling hills.

From a distance, the misty expanse of Longxu Lake resembles an emerald embedded among undulating, rugged ridges. Up close, the pavilions and towers along the lakeshore offer a uniquely relaxing experience, especially with the shimmering waves and the refreshing lake breeze, which evoke a transcendent sense of serenity. In the center of the lake lies a 600-square-meter "Flying Island" that looks like a small boat floating on the water. This area was designated as a provincial-level scenic spot by the provincial government in 1998.
