The Tumulus Tomb Cluster in Jianping Town is located in Zhongxi and Zhongxin administrative villages of Jianping Town, Langxi County, approximately 7 kilometers north of the county seat. The cluster was discovered in 1985. In 2005 and 2007, local cultural heritage authorities conducted emergency excavations on four tumulus tombs in the northeast of Xinhua Village, uncovering a significant amount of important data. The tombs are arranged in a linear pattern from east to west, covering an area of about 5 square kilometers, and are mainly distributed across low mountainous and hilly terrain. Among the four excavated tombs, three tumulus mounds are dome-shaped, situated on slopes in a triangular formation, with the farthest distance between them being 100 meters. The burial mounds were piled up from flat ground without compaction, and no burial pits or coffins were found. One bronze ding vessel was unearthed, with its body covered in waterfowl motifs. In addition, pottery items such as dou vessels and jars were also found. Fragments of stamped hard pottery were collected at the site. Based on the artifacts, the Tumulus Tomb Cluster in Jianping Town is believed to date from the middle to late Western Zhou Dynasty to the Eastern Zhou period.
