The former site of the Yaocun Soviet Government is a cultural heritage protection unit of Xuancheng City.

The former site of the Yaocun Soviet Government is located in Yaocun Township, Langxi County. It dates back to the Republican era and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative building.

In 2016, the former site of the Yaocun Soviet Government was designated by the Xuancheng Municipal People's Government as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units.

Yaocun Township: Located in the southwestern part of Langxi County, Yaocun Township is bordered by National Highway 318 and the Xuancheng–Hangzhou Railway to the north. It lies 120 kilometers from both Nanjing and Hangzhou. The township administers 10 village committees and two papermaking economic zones—Yashan and Yongfeng—covering an area of 85 square kilometers with a population of 20,000. The region features undulating mountains and spectacular peculiar peaks and rocks. The Shifo Mountain scenic area, often referred to as the “Little Jiuhua Mountain,” is one of the renowned Buddhist mountains in southeastern Anhui. With an elevation of 353 meters, the mountain is abundant in oddly shaped rocks resembling giant Buddhas. At its summit lies the Wind-moving Rock, over ten feet tall and weighing hundreds of tons, believed to be spiritually potent.
